How To Treat It
One of the commonest problems you can experience with your nails is nail fungus. Although it does not sound like something too serious, it can actually cause you many additional problems, so you should start treating it early on.
If you have a fungal nail infection, it can be diagnosed by scraping that part of the nail and sending it to be analyzed to detect what type of fungus it is. This is something that can be difficult to treat because fungus can be stubborn, so you will have to be persistent. One of the most effective ways to treat it is oral antifungal drugs, which will treat the infection much faster than topical creams would. However, you should add cream as well, because it will fasten the process of your new nail growing.
There is also a medical nail polish that you can use. You add layers on top of each other, and then peel it off after seven days, and then reapply the process. This type of treatment can be tiresome, and long, but it is still something you can try. If the fungal nail infection is pretty bad, your doctor may suggest surgery to remove your nail, so they can treat the infected skin underneath. This happens mostly when the infection is deep, and you are experiencing more serious pain.
If you are experiencing this type of problem, you should go to the doctor as soon as you notice it. The healing process can be long, which is why you want to start early on, as it will have more success that way.
